“I didn’t know where else to go.”

Having lived with and cared for an aunt who was diagnosed with leukemia, Nachelle and her children were left homeless after the aunt passed away. At that point, the family moved from one shelter to another until your support provided them with safe, stable housing at Graber House.

“When I walked through the door, I didn’t realize how beautiful it would be and how much work people had put in for us families to have something so amazing.”

“It has been amazing, especially with everything my kids and I have been through. It’s helped me be able to go back to school. It’s helped my 18-year-old daughter finish school. She also just started a job. It’s helped her thrive more than anything you know, being out of the shelters and actually having a place to call home and being safe.”

Nachelle has always believed in God. She was saved when her oldest daughter was born but then strayed. “I had a couple of bad relationships and those brought me down. I lost everything and suffered from homelessness and addiction.”

“He has been back in my life 100 percent, and I talk to Him every single day,” she says. “I am glad this place is a Christian home. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”

And to friends like you who help make Graber House possible through your support, Nachelle says: “God bless them. The donors are giving us this opportunity. This place gives me hope for my future. ‘Thank you’ is really not enough for what they do.”
